Title: Medical Assistant

Reports to: Office Manager


  • Monday through Friday
  • 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (or later if required to complete all daily activities)
  • On occasion, some evening and weekend work may be required


  • Full time
  • Hourly
  • Includes benefits

The primary function of the medical assistant is to facilitate the smooth flow of patients into and out of the back office.

Essential Functions

  • Move patients into and out of the back office
  • Take vitals and histories from the patients and enter them into their charts
  • Assist the providers with the patients, supplies and equipment as needed
  • Collect and process specimens for internal and external laboratory testing
  • Administer vaccines and maintain patient vaccine records

Non-Essential Functions

  • Generate reports as required
  • Support the marketing and advertising efforts
  • Cross train on the basic tasks of the receptionists (answer phones, make appointments, check patients in and out) and the basic tasks of the scribe and fill in as required


  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • CPR certified (training provided as needed)

Required Education and Experience

  • No educational requirements
  • At least two years of experience as a medical assistant

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Spanish-speaking
