Title: Scribe

Reports to: Office Manager


  • Monday through Friday
  • 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (or later if required to complete all daily activities)
  • On occasion, some evening and weekend work may be required


  • Full time
  • Hourly

The primary function of the scribe is to ensure all exams are charted, coded and billed as per the provider’s orders and instructions and assist with other tasks as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Follow the providers to chart all exams in the exam room
  • Complete all charts daily including coding and billing
  • Assist the providers with the patients, supplies and equipment as needed
  • Grade Conners Developmental Testing as needed
  • Assist with in-office procedures
  • Assist with research regarding charting and coding as needed
  • Maintain HIPPA and OSHA compliance at all times

Non-Essential Functions

  • Support the marketing and advertising efforts
  • Cross-train on the basic tasks of the receptionists (answer phones, make appointments, check patients in and out) and the basic tasks of the medical assistants (room patients, take vitals, complete an HPI and update the current medication list) and fill in as required


  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • CPR certified (training provided as needed)

Required Education and Experience

  • No educational requirements/li>
  • At least two years of experience as a medical assistant

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Spanish-speaking
